Comprising subject matter experts in health security, preparedness and resiliency theory, as well as analytic methods and modeling, this workgroup is focused on refining and updating the conceptual model of health security and preparedness as well as creating a rigorous computational structure. Members work on ensuring that key constructs related to health security, preparedness and resiliency are reflected in the Index’s domains, subdomains and individual measures. Members are also focused on identifying strategies to enhance scaling, grouping, weighting, and risk-adjusting of individual measures in the Index and its sub-components. This workgroup also helps identify opportunities for using the Index and its underlying data and measures for predictive and scenario modeling and simulation applications that enhance the utility of the Index as a decision-support tool in policy and practice.
The Analytic Methodology Workgroup was merged with the Model Design Workgroup in July 2016.
Meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of every month from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., ET.

Comprising representatives from key groups that reflect the diverse perspectives of current and potential end-users, this workgroup helps identify and target high-priority end-users of the Index, contributing to development of tailored messages and materials, as well as channel identification, for reaching these important groups. Workgroup members react to existing Index measures and plans for the Index’s continuing refinement, identify health preparedness knowledge gaps and potential uses for the Index, and recommend additional data sources, measures, and material supporting use. This workgroup also helps inform the development of processes and activities for collecting input and feedback from a broader base of current and potential end-users nationwide.
